Growing up in a musical family in County Kilkenny, Ireland, singer/songwriter Annika Kilkenny’s first musical love was the piano. Taking lessons from her auntie, it wasn’t long before she was exploring on her own and making her own compositions. Writing her first lyrics in notebooks she kept close to her chest, after some encouragement from friends Annika showcased her skills winning first place at a regional talent competition. Finding joy in creating warm and cosy songs which tell stories of self-acceptance and personal growth, Annika is inspired by the likes of Lizzy McAlpine, Laufey and Emily Bear and can be found using social media as her sketchbook for new musical ideas.
